The second in a series of Town Hall Meetings designed to give park patrons better access to City and park officials without the pressure of a City-run hearing will be this Saturday morning at the, SOMA Rec Center. Park and Rec’s top brass and key members of the oversight body, the Recreation and Parks Commission will be on hand to listen. Yes I said listen.

All the issues the Dolores Park comunity has been strugling with this past year will be up for discussion:

  • How best to handle mandated budget cuts and raise additional revenu?
  • How can RPD improve community outreach?
  • How can we improve park maintenance?

This exciting experiment in democracy is being organized by the Neighborhood Parks Council, Dolores Park Works partner in park advocacy. NPC promises a civil and productive meeting that will begin and end on time. With top notch pastry and coffee too.  Town Halls are planned for Noe Valley and Ocean View later this year.  Don’t miss this opportunity to support our wonderful parks.
