We won!! Dolores Park Wins SF Beautiful Award!

We won!! Dolores Park Works and The Friends of Dolores Park Playground have won a 2012 SF Beautiful Award.
For 41 years, SF Beautiful has celebrated San Francisco’s most distinguished, civic-minded patrons, elected officials, corporate citizens, and artists. On Friday, July 27 at the SF Armory Community Center both Dolores Park Works and The Friends of Dolores Park Playground were joint recipients of a best project award.

SF Beautiful wrote, “We admire Dolores Park Works’ community stewardship over one of the most loved parks in San Francisco, making our City a more livable and beautiful place to live, work, and play.”

This award is in recognition of everyone who has helped and supported Dolores

Park over the years, the merchants who have donated lunch for the volunteers, the neighbors who have watched out for vandals, school children who have picked up litter, Jacob Gilchrist of Rec and Park Supervisor Wiener and the hundreds of people who work on the community design process for the Renovation and everyone who knows and respects Dolores as a special place. Thanks to Dolores Park Dogs for their monthly park clean-ups and stewardship of the dog spaces, the Dolores Park Works Volunteers who have contributed many valuable hours of park maintenance over the past few years and to the many schools and corporate volunteers who have given their time. And most importantly, to The Friends of Dolores Park Playground and the Diller family for the gift of the Hellen Diller Playground.
