Bi-Rite and DPWorks Join for Post Pride Clean-Up

Monday July 1st we will be teaming up with volunteers from Bi-Rite Market to lend a hand in the huge clean-up effort following Pride Weekend.

“Although the store needs everyone on deck during the weekend”,  Shakirah Simley, Bi-Rite Community Coordinator told us early last week,”We would love to help out with some park clean-up afterward ” Bi-Rite told us they are painfully aware of the “grocery bag tumbleweeds” after these huge events. Bi-Rite Grocery is a long time sponsor of DPWorks’ Clean-Ups.

As a certified San Francisco Green Business, Bi-Rite is committed to reducing their environmental footprint and building a strong community.

Please join us Monday, July 1, 9am. RSVP to robert@doloresparkworks.org

We will meet at Bi-Rite Market’s community food space, 18 Reasons, 3674 18th Street.  The Bi-rite crew is preparing  breakfast.

We’ll have seasonal fruit, breakfast breads and pastries, Straus yogurt and house-made granola and coffee. We’ll start breakfast at 9AM and then walk over to the park once everyone has had a bite to eat.

SF Pride has released a Green Initiative for the celebration. Marked disposal cans are provided for recycling, composting, and trash. Marked signs will also be posted. For several years running food exhibitors are required to use and distribute 100% compostable plates, cups, and other materials.
